Tips for Consigning

Evolve consigns mid level to upscale, or designer, clothing, and accessories for men. Generally, we do not buy Items outright. Because of our limited space and commitment to quality we may be unable to accept some things. Please bring items on hangers, or neatly folded in a box or hamper, just please not wadded up in a trash bag. Please limit the number of items that you bring to fewer than 25 per visit, unless you have made prior arrangements with us.

Here's what to look for before you consign your clothing and accessories.

  • Evolve prefers clothing and accessories that are like new, or in excellent condition. Please do not bring in items that are damaged, or soiled. Clothing should be clean, presentable, and ready to be sold. Remember; the better your items look, the quicker they sell, and better looking items often sell at a higher price.

  • Current styles, and garments that are relevant to current styles only - You are right, quality is forever but styles aren't, so no matter how amazing the quality may be, the cuts do change.

  • Open shirt collar and stretch it. If the crease is faded, it probably wouldn't sell. No ring around the collar.

  • No signs of wear on ends of the cuffs. No broken or missing buttons.

  • Stretch pant crease tight. No signs of fading or discoloration from dry cleaning / pressing.

  • On shoes, no scuffs, scratches, or loss of shape.

We sell like new clothing and accessories, on some occasions we may be interested in your iconic, or high-end vintage items.

Does Evolve make house calls to pick up my items?

Not usually, but under certain circumstances we will be willing to pick up items from you. This is often the case with estates.

When can I bring things in to consign?

Generally, we review and accept items on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.  It naturally takes a little time to review items and we want to be able to spend some time with you and look at what you are bringing in to us. Please call ahead to make sure we are accepting items.

When do you accept seasonal clothing like coats and shorts?

A typical rule of thumb is a month prior to the actual “season” of the item that you are actually bringing in.

What type of clothing and accessories do you accept?

We are an upscale men’s store so we mostly take upscale brands, while we sometimes wish we could accept more, we have to make sure to stock our store with things our customers want. Sometimes what we accept or do not accept is based on what we already have in stock at that moment. Feel free to reach out to us and we can explain and answer and questions that you may have.

How much money can I make?

The sky is the limit! We try to be as fair as we can, you make what we make on your clothing & accessories 50/50 split.
